Our Approach

We close the distance between a good plan and real results.

Waymark Collaborative helps education systems, nonprofits, and foundations turn a sound strategy into something the organization can actually carry out, and keep carrying out on its own.

A fourth that decides the outcome

Activation

Diagnosis, strategy, and design are the thinking work that most organizations and consultants already do well. Activation is the part that comes after: the doing, sustaining, and capacity-building that most engagements never quite get to.

That is where Waymark Collaborative lives.

Diagnosis Strategy Design The climb:activation Impact

Activation

The three movements
of activation

i

Shaping & Deciding

Helping leadership teams identify the right problems to solve before committing to solutions. Generating and honestly evaluating initiatives, surfacing what each would actually take, and deciding what is worth pursuing and in what sequence.

ii

Designing & Planning

Translating selected initiatives into clear, actionable, executable strategy aligned to real organizational capacity, so the plan that looks good on paper is one the organization can actually carry out.

iii

Implementing & Sustaining

Supporting execution in real time, strengthening internal systems and leadership capacity, and ensuring progress does not depend on continued external support to survive.

The measure of success

The measure of success isn't a deliverable. It's what the organization is capable of when the engagement ends.

Which is why the work is built to leave you stronger, and able to carry it forward on your own.

The name

Waymark, Collaborative

The name comes from waymarks: the trail markers that show the way through unfamiliar terrain. It's how I think about the work: not arriving to tell you where to go, but marking the path alongside you and staying on it until you've arrived.

Collaborative is the rest of the promise: the work happens with you, not to you.

From Vision to Impact

If your organization is carrying work that has to hold, let's talk about the stretch that decides it.
